The Sri Lanka Prescriber (SLP) is the country’s only national, independent drugs and therapeutics bulletin, published quarterly by the Department of Pharmacology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo, in collaboration with the State Pharmaceuticals Corporation (SPC). Since its beginnings in 1966, SLP has provided unbiased, evidence-based information to support safe, rational prescribing.
SLP is a full member of the International Society of Drug Bulletins (ISDB) and maintains editorial independence with no advertising or sponsorship.
The journal covers:
- Therapeutic guidelines and best practices for Sri Lanka
- Medication safety, ADRs, and drug interactions
- Independent drug reviews and cost-effectiveness
- Updates from the NMRA and regulatory bodies
- Educational content for clinicians, pharmacists, and students
Now primarily published online, SLP continues to be an essential resource for healthcare professionals, policymakers, and students in promoting safe, effective, and rational use of medicines in Sri Lanka.
